How Hypnosis Helps You Get Pregnant: Fast!

Does the word ‘hypnosis’ freak you out and do you immediately think about people on stage running around like chicken? It is totally normal to be sceptical about hypnosis if the pictures in your mind are recalling mystical practices from a movie or some stage hypnosis which are purely made to entertain people.

Well, you are not alone, I was thinking exactly that until I started my training and got to know hypnosis better, tried it myself and learned about all the amazing things it can help people with. Hypnosis is a proven, powerful tool to make positive change in people’s lives: quickly and long-lasting.

So First, Let’s bust some myths about hypnosis:

  1. Hypnosis is mind control: no, such a thing doesn’t exist, only in movies of course. In hypnosis you only do what you want to do, you are completely in control. If I asked you to do something in hypnosis that you didn’t want to do, you simply would not do it. Or if I asked you a question you didn’t want to answer, you simply wouldn’t answer, you always have a choice. You can only be hypnotised if you agree, you have to want it and believe that it is possible and will be successful. Nothing can happen against your will.

  2. Hypnosis is about being asleep: quite the opposite. In hypnosis your body does feel extremely relaxed while your mind is super focused. You mind is able to completely focus on something you choose to without being distracted or disturbed by what is going on around you. You can say that your nervous system is asleep, and that is why hypnosis is a perfect state for healing your body. Your body can only heal in a relaxed state when the body is flooded with all the good hormones supporting your body to heal. When we are stressed and our body is flooded with stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, the body is in survival mode with no time to look after itself, let alone heal itself.

  3. In hypnosis you lose touch with reality: Not true, if the fire alarm went off, you would most definitely open your eyes and get up. You hear everything that is going on around you, it just doesn’t distract you. Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing state of being in which you are actually hyper-aware of your surroundings.

  4. You can get stuck in hypnosis: Being in hypnosis is a natural state between being awake and being asleep, you go through this each time you wake up or fall asleep. So either the person who guides you into hypnosis will simply tell you to open your eyes, or you will fall asleep or you wake up by yourself after a few minutes if you are doing a self-hypnosis.

  5. Not everyone can be hypnotised: It has been proven that everyone can be hypnotised. If you choose to be hypnotised and you believe in its benefit, you will have no problem. If you go into a hypnosis session full of doubt and scepticism, you might feel you cannot relax. If a client is very sceptical or even scared, I give them a self-hypnosis audio and they can practise at home, and get to know the process, so they open up to the idea of hypnosis. We are always sceptical about things we don’t know or understand, that’s a natural protection mechanism.

  6. Hypnosis is black magic: Hypnosis is a natural state that has been studied scientifically and is the basis of all psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy is based on many years of clinical research by famous Psychologists and is becoming more and more popular among traditional medicine and is being used in some hospitals instead of anesthesia. 

So what is Hypnosis then?

Hypnosis is a tool or technique to get you into a highly relaxed state, a form of focussed relaxation. Your focus turns inward and you are not distracted by what is going on around you, just like in meditation with the difference that in meditation you want to still your mind and in hypnosis you focus on specific thoughts and emotions and you are able to concentrate on a goal you want to achieve, something you want to change in your life or in your body without being distracted by any outside stimuli or the critical voice in your head.

Hypnosis allows you to enter a different state of mind which is called trance or flow, somewhere between being awake and being asleep. Each time you fall asleep or wake up, you naturally are in the state of trance as your brain activity either slows down or becomes more active.

In hypnosis you can communicate with your mind and tap into the part of your mind that is responsible for your bodily functions such as hormone production, your emotions, your heart rate, the cells of your body,... In hypnosis something happens in the mind that doesn’t happen out of hypnosis. Your mind and your body accept change and actually get excited about change, excited about healing and improving your situation.

Have you noticed that your best ideas come in the shower, while you are driving or on long walks through nature? When we do these activities, our conscious, busy mind is turned off and we are entering a state of trance in which we are accessing our deeper, subconscious mind.

Did You Know That You Experience Hypnosis Every Day?

You surely have experienced hypnosis already, in fact, you experience it daily, even though you are not aware of it. Any time you are doing a routine task and your mind wanders off, when you forget everything around you, your body is completely relaxed, and you lose track of time, that is when you are in a state of trance. For example when you are:

  • Reading a book

  • Watching a movie

  • Daydreaming, watching the rain through the window

  • Driving a route you take each day

  • Engaging in your hobby that completely occupies your mind

  • Falling asleep or waking up

So while this is happening automatically, without intention, hypnosis allows us to intentionally go into this state of mind.

How does Hypnosis Feel and what can I expect?

  1. You will feel extremely relaxed. Above all, hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation. The more you relax the easier it will be to go into hypnosis.

  2. It will feel super easy. Hypnosis isn’t magic or mind control, it’s a natural state of mind, a state in which the body is ready for healing.

  3. It feels very safe. Nothing can happen that you don’t want.

  4. Emotions may come up, but that is a very good thing, as this is part of the healing process and will take a big weight off your shoulders.

  5. When coming out of hypnosis you will feel refreshed and ready to continue with your day immediately, feeling very confident.

  6. Since we are all individuals, people may experience hypnosis differently. Change shows up either instantly, gradually each day, or maybe you don’t notice anything different, and only when looking back after a couple weeks you realise how much has changed in your life.

How Can Hypnosis Help Me Get Pregnant?

It is not hypnosis that will help you get pregnant, as it is a tool to access your subconscious mind, so I should rephrase my headline to ‘Why Do I Need To Access My Subconscious Mind To Get Pregnant?’ But that wouldn’t sound so good, right?

You are probably wondering what the subconscious mind has to do with you trying to get pregnant, I totally get it. When I first learned this it sounded confusing.

The subconscious mind runs your life. You may think that you are totally in control of all your actions, you may think you make deliberate decisions all the time or act in a conscious way, but the truth is that our subconscious mind runs the show, 95% of the time. The subconscious mind is our feeling mind, our emotional mind which stores all our memories. The conscious mind is the one that makes rational decisions, states desires, it is our thinking mind.

How The Subconscious Mind Controls Your Body

The subconscious mind also runs everything that happens in your body, it basically controls your body. Your subconscious mind stores all your memories, experiences, beliefs, emotions, opinions, it is like a huge warehouse. The person you are today is a product of your past experiences, especially experiences you made early on in your life and which you might not even recall from the top of your head right now.

Your body is also a result of your past experiences. When your body is not functioning in its intended way, when conditions like endometriosis show up, or your hormone levels are out of balance, we need to look into the subconscious mind to find out about experiences in your past that are still influencing you today and that are blocking your fertility right now, keeping you from getting pregnant.

How Contradicting Beliefs Keep You Stuck

Your desire to get pregnant might be huge, but if something deep inside of you in your subconscious mind beliefs that getting pregnant or having a baby might not benefit you, it will come up with a condition or mess up your hormones to prevent you from having your baby.

The first and most important job of your mind is to keep you alive and keep you safe on the planet. We have to understand that your mind and body always think that they are acting in your favour. Your mind and body actually think they are acting in your interest at the moment by blocking your fertility. I know this sounds a bit crazy, but that’s the way it is. Hypnosis helps us to align your conscious desire to having a baby with your deeper beliefs about pregnancy or motherhood, so you can get pregnant quickly.

In a fully awake and conscious state it takes much longer, both to uncover the blocks and to make the changes. When we are in hypnosis, we can easily access this warehouse or treasure box of information, and pull out all the answers we need to move forward. We can ask questions and your subconscious mind will know the answers.

I am sure you are asking yourself why nothing is working, why you have to struggle so much, and why nobody, not even the doctors can tell you why you are not getting pregnant or why you are having miscarriage after miscarriage. You have the answers inside of you, you just cannot access them by yourself. In hypnosis you can communicate with your subconscious mind and find out what is going on, why your mind is blocking you from getting or staying pregnant. Once we understand what is going on, we can get rid of the blocks and empower you to support yourself on your journey into motherhood. It is a wonderful thing to go on this journey of self-discovery. It may take some courage, but it’s so worth it.

How The Body Is A Reflection Of Our Experiences

We completely underestimate how past events still affect us today. For example: the way you experienced your first period  can influence your ability to get pregnant today. It doesn’t have to, but it could.

It’s not what happens to us that affects us, but the meaning we attach to it

It is important to understand that one event can have two completely different meanings to two different people. Let me explain: When you got your period, how did that feel, which memories do you have of that? Did your mum celebrate you becoming a woman, did she give you a little present, did she take you out to have a meal together? Or, were you alone, did you feel disgusted by the fact that you were bleeding, was it not to be mentioned in your house? As you can see, your journey of becoming a woman can start off in different ways, positive or negative. You can feel empowered to become a woman or shameful. It is experiences like that which form who we are today and how we see the world.

To stay with the same example, if you hated to have your periods as a girl and you told yourself over and over again that you wished you didn’t have them, your body might react on that and stop your periods, or you might only get them on an irregular basis.

I know that these are very simple, straight forward examples, and lives are much more complicated, but I wanted to keep it simple to illustrate which power your mind has over your body.

Stop being your own worst critic

Besides from getting answers in hypnosis, we can also give ourselves suggestions in hypnosis. We can reprogram our minds in ways that we think more positive thoughts, that when we come out of hypnosis, we can support ourselves better, become our own cheerleader instead of being our own worst critic. When you get out of hypnosis, you will feel so much more confident, super relaxed, ready for what’s coming. You will be better equipped for events that usually put you off or stress you out or make you sad. Seeing another pregnant woman on the street, or  avoiding the baby isle in the supermarket will be events you are either indifferent to or get excited about, whatever you choose. Hypnosis can help you to be more in control of your feelings.

Thoughts like “I’ll never be pregnant” will have changed into “I am getting pregnant easily, I am meant to be a mother and I trust in the process”. Like I said earlier, something happens in the mind during hypnosis that doesn’t happen out of it. The mind becomes excited by change, it agrees to change, it let’s change in.

Visualisations are a very important and effective way of communicating with your mind and body. It may sound too easy, but visualising you getting pregnant and having your baby over and over again will support you tremendously in becoming a mother.  

In hypnosis we are also able to communicate better with our body, and we can even instruct our body to behave in a certain way, like to release the right hormones at the right time, tell our body to heal, release an egg from the ovaries at the right time, and so much more. When our mind and body are working together, we can create miracles, and little babies, too, which in the end is the same thing :)
